Hillgrove Resources (ASX:HGO) is an Australian copper producer based in South Australia’s Adelaide Hills, just 55km from the Adelaide CBD. Operating since 2005, Hillgrove transitioned from open-pit to underground copper production in 2024 and operates a well-capitalised 3-3.6Mtpa processing plant.

About the Role
As a Mine Surveyor, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining high-quality survey control networks, delivering accurate as-constructed surveys of active mining areas, and completing CMS and drone flights of active stopes and open voids. The role also includes producing precise Survey Memos for mine operations, providing reliable stockpile reconciliation data, and compiling End-of-Month reports for key stakeholders.
Working closely with engineering, geology and operations teams, you will ensure daily survey requirements are met while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and compliance. While the role requires strong collaboration and communication skills, you must also be confident working independently, managing competing priorities, and adapting quickly to changing operational demands.
As part of a growing, scale-up business, excellent prioritisation, time management and organisational skills are essential. You will also play a key role in mentoring and training Survey Graduates, contributing to the ongoing capability development of the team.
About you
You are an experienced Mine Surveyor who thrives in a dynamic underground hard rock mining environment. You are agile, resilient and highly detail-oriented, with the ability to accurately interpret plans and spatial data to support safe and efficient mining operations.
You bring a proactive mindset and are comfortable working in a fast-paced setting where priorities can shift quickly. Your strong organisational skills allow you to manage your workload effectively, while your clear communication style enables you to collaborate confidently with engineering, geology and operations teams.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently, you take ownership of your responsibilities and consistently deliver accurate, high-quality outcomes. From day one, you are ready to contribute your technical expertise, practical experience and commitment to continuous improvement within a growing and evolving mining business.
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you will need:
- Current driver’s license
- Qualification in Surveying (Cert 4/Diploma)
- Experience in underground mine surveying or equivalent
Desired skills and experience included:
- Advanced Diploma / Bachelors degree
- Proficient with Software: Deswik, Maptek, Pix4d
- Proficient with equipment: Leica, Trimble, Exyn, DJI
