We are seeking an experienced and innovative Surface Maintenance Superintendent to join our team!

Reporting to Surface Manager, the Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for the delivery of company objectives related to the maintenance and reliability of the processing plant equipment and other surface site infrastructure.  The role will also be required to assist in planning and coordinating surface capital projects.

About the Role

The Surface Maintenance Superintendent leads safe, reliable and cost-effective maintenance across the processing plant. The role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirements.

Key duties include planning and managing maintenance activities to support campaign-based operations, maintaining plant availability, and controlling maintenance costs through effective budgeting and continuous improvement initiatives. The role oversees maintenance schedules for mechanical, electrical and project work, and provides leadership during breakdowns and fault-finding activities.

The Maintenance Superintendent works closely with operations, technical teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure maintenance priorities support production goals and deliver value. Responsibility also includes contractor management, spare parts and inventory control, system improvement (including ERP systems), and maintaining high housekeeping standards.

This role leads, coaches and develops the maintenance team, and collaborates with the wider site leadership team to support safe, efficient and sustainable operations.

The roster for the role is 5/2, 4/3 based on nominal 10-hour days.

You bring energy, drive and a proactive mindset, with a strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement, as well as a passion for processing operations and developing team capability, taking pride in contributing to shared goals and supporting new initiatives.

 

Requirements

Essential:

  • Qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering or a mechanical or electrical trade qualification and significant supervisory and management experience.
  • Ore processing plant experience, ideally in a similar role.
  • Intermediate to advanced computing and office skills with a comprehensive understanding of ERP systems (preferably PULSE).
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance principles.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills for building relationships with contractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Current Australian Driver’s License.
  • Must have rights to reside and work within Australia.

Desirable:

  • Leadership/Supervisor training/qualifications.
  • Forklift (LF) license.
